NCCPH TOP LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES FOR 2007
- “Public Health Funds Aid to Counties” HB125, SB249
- Elimination of healthhazards from second-hand smoke and an increase in the NC cigarette tax as referred to in HB24, HB259, HB760, SB124, SB1086
- $4.3 million in additional recurring funding to strengthen the Statewide Health Promotion Program in each county Health Department. HB23
- <$1,010,000 for each year for a 2 year period in support of “Healthy Carolinian” Programs HB25

- $450 million to relieve counties of Medicaid cost HB1424
- To create a new permanent funding source for the Universal Vaccine Program HB771, SB710
- $1.35 million to expand dental care for special care population
- Change the name of the Commission for Health Services to the Commission for Public Health
- An act to authorize community-based needle and syringe exchange programs
- $750,000 to support the “Healthy Start Foundation” HB322
